Jorgen Hoj

Jorgen Hoj

Jørgen Høj (1925-1994) was trained as a metalworker and upholsterer.
He won the Silver Medal awarded by The Danish School of Arts and Crafts in 1947 and graduated from the same institution in 1950, running his own design studio from 1955.

He was an allround architect, working with furniture, graphics and interior decorating of chain stores, cinemas etc. For a period of time he worked closely with Poul Kjærholm on several projects, one of them the JH 106 pictured here.

The Wooden Trays seem both selfeffacing and remarkable, made to enter into a sophisticated dialogue with its surroundings.
