Antti Nurmesniemi is one of the pioneers in Finnish design industry. His products, manufactured over the decades, express reliability, individuality and independence. His participation in everyday social life with open eyes and mind has produced not only the classics but also various articles, lectures and exhibition designs. Furthermore, he has actively participated in the improvement of the education in the field and in various organizational activities connected with industrial design, at home and abroad. Even though he has had a successful career, he regards peace of mind, found through his work, as his most important professional achievement. Piiroinen has the honour to have his Triennale chair, designed for the Milan Triennale in 1960, in its collection. In the co-operation between the designer and the manufacturer he emphasizes the value of each skilled person in the birth process of a product. He finds the collaboration with Piiroinen rewarding, which is a result of high work ethic and of respect for the designer.
